Organic sunflower kernels
The 2024 harvest in Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania brought some surprises. Due to adverse weather conditions, the harvested sunflower kernels turned out to be unusually small. This reduced size presents significant challenges for processing facilities: machines need to be adjusted to minimize kernel breakage, which in turn slows down the production process considerably.
The unsatisfactory hulling yield has led to a shortage of available organic sunflower kernels. This situation affects not only availability but also the cost structure: delivery delays and rising prices are unavoidable. Available stock at origin is only offered at daily prices, and long-term supply agreements are currently not feasible due to the volatile situation.
To still provide you with alternatives, we have organic sunflower kernel chips available from stock. These are well-suited for various applications and can be delivered at short notice.
