About Bulghur:


  • historically mainly a side dish of the Arab countries, very popular also in Turkey
  • today basic staple in mediterranean kitchen
  • made from Durum wheat
  • grains are cut into pieces, then steamed and dried
  • vitamins and minerals of the skin parts of the grain enter the inner parts of the kernels in the steaming process making bulghur rich in nutrients
  • fast-cooking, easy dish
  • strong nutty flavor
  • contains gluten as bulghur is made from wheat.
